In Hong Kong, the atmosphere of Chinese New Year is getting less and less important. In fact, we have the same problem for all other festivals . The main reason is due to having too many political conflicts in our society in recent years. Ongoing demonstrations have already depressed our moods for celebration, or at least to a certain extent. Worse still, Avian Flu is attacking us incessantly, interfering the supply of fresh chickens to our local markets. A lot of people have changed to purchase chilled chickens instead. ...... ...Due to too many uncertainties, more people pay attention to have public holidays only, rather than celebrating the festivals.
